Michael Stott BArch Dip (Bristol) ARIBA

Managing Director

Michael started Ratcliffe Stott in 1983, after working for Trusthouse Forte Hotels as their Senior Architect with Trusthouse Forte Hotels and Courage Breweries as his first Clients. Prior to THF, Michael worked on a number of architectural projects in the UK and overseas and established his own practice in Dominica, in the West Indies, in 1969 designing a variety of projects including schools, hotels and hospitals.

Ratcliffe Stott's architectural and interior design work on the Labadi Beach Hotel, Ghana in 1992 with an impossibly tight one year programme, led to the forming of valuable links with a Swedish system build company enabling short build programmes with high standard internal fit-outs.

Michael's own wide experience within the Hotel and Leisure Industry has led his company into the role of specialist in this field and his expertise in feasibility studies, project costing, and sensitive solutions to listed buildings and difficult planning issues, has built the company a portfolio of repeat Clients.

Jill Stott

Director & Head of Interior Design

Jill trained in Fashion at Hammersmith School of Art and worked in the wholesale fashion industry, before becoming a founding partner in Ratcliffe Stott in 1983. Focusing on the Hotel and Leisure sector, Jill has worked on the interior design of hotels and leisure facilities from Ghana to Helsinki.

Responsible for the 'Corporate Design' and procurement of everything from mattresses to table ware for Clients both at home and overseas, she has most recently worked on Spas for Hand Picked Hotels where she was responsible for the design concept, specification and procurement of interior finishes, fixtures and fittings.
